Director of Development and Communications

The Director of Development and Communications helps to facilitate the success of all development and admissions related initiatives and activities for Pathfinder School.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with leadership to develop, set and monitor fundraising goals

Maintain development communications calendar for the school

Plan and manage key events and appeals

Cultivate and manage donor relationships

Plan and Execute Programs that enhance the visibility and perception of the school

Organize activities that support the admissions and development objectives of the school

Manage graphic design elements

Cultivate and maintain relationships with the media

Oversee use of the of social media platforms

Oversee production of all school publications, including annual report, school directory, handbooks, newsletters and event invitations programs

Formulate alumni  relations programs

 

Desirable Skills:

Excellence in verbal and written communication

Familiarity with the Grand Traverse region

Experience in development and fundraising strategies

Experience with social media platforms

Ability to perform or supervise graphic design work

Excellent project and event management skills

Agile team player

Attention to detail

Respect for young children and a passion for their social, emotional and intellectual development

Understanding of Independent Schools

Can advance the mission of The Pathfinder School

Bachelor’s degree (or higher)

Commitment to ongoing professional development

Successful clearance of federal and state background checks
