Michigan Legacy Art Park is seeking an experienced Executive Director to report to its Board of Directors.

MLAP merges art, creativity, educational programming, and the environment into an extraordinary experience. Families, artists, educators, tourists, and concert goers all feel its impact as they enjoy the 30-acre forest sculpture park currently featuring 50 works of art. Located in Thompsonville, MI on land contiguous with Crystal Mountain, the Art Park is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

Responsibilities include fundraising and grants; donor relations management; marketing and communications; financial and fiscal management; programming; art collections, park, and administrative operations; staff supervision and management; event planning; managing volunteer relationships; and providing Board support.

The successful applicant will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrate initiative and adaptability, and have exceptional organizational, planning, and implementation skills. He/she will have an appreciation for outdoor sculpture and a passion for the arts, Michigan history, education, and their intersection with the environment. A proven track record of driving performance to the next level is a must.

Experience with a nonprofit organization and as an Executive Director is preferred as is 5 years of administrative and staff management experience. Exceptional database use and management skills are required. Prior management and understanding of an outdoor programming environment are a plus.

Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience, education, and background.
